Annual Events

Inter-university debate competition

The Alpha Club Inter-University Debate Competition, a Hallmark of the Alpha Club’s  annual calendar, brings together students from various universities to engage in spirited and thought provoking debates. As part of our commitment to academic excellence and intellectual discourse, we have curated compelling topics that reflect the diverse challenges and opportunities facing our world today.

The debate competition has become a catalyst to community building, fostering connections among students, faculty, and professionals. The club remains committed to nurturing future generations of thinkers, debaters and leaders who will contribute meaningfully to the academic landscape.

ANNUAL CHARITY WEEK

This one of the clubs biggest events historically. A week in which the Club’s members and Graduate members sacrifice their time and resources to give hope and life.

For over 3 decades, the blood donation activity has consistently helped fill the blood banks of O.A.U.T.H.C., National Blood Transfusion Service NBTS, University Teaching Hospital UTH, and Lagos University Teaching Hospital LUTH with an average of 700 pints collected every year.  The week also has a Church and Mosque thanksgiving service, an orphanage visitation, free bus rides for students, and many more!

The induction ceremony

Every year, the club hosts an illustrious induction ceremony, a celebration where we welcome the most exceptional gentlemen into our fold. It is a meticulous process – only those who have undergone rigorous training and intensive teachings are considered for induction.

During this momentous event, these newly inducted members recieve their first Alpha handshake, a symbol of the profound brotherhood they’ve entered as initiated Alphites.

The impact of this ceremony lasts far beyond the night itself; it lingers in conversations and memories, leaving an indelible mark on everyone involved. It’s more than an event- it’s a tradition that fosters a legacy of camaraderie and excellence.

Alpha Futsal Fest & Trade Fair

The Alpha Futsal Fest is an electrifying 7 or 9-a-side football competition, bringing players and fans together in the spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork.

Alongside, the Alpha Trade Fair offers a vibrant platform for vendors and entrepreneurs to showcase their products, connect with customers, and grow their brands.

Together, these events celebrate sports, commerce, and community in true Alpha spirit.
